According to data published by the European Statistical Institute (EUROSTAT), Albania ranks third in Europe in terms of rising food prices.
Based on these data, the group of foods and alcoholic beverages increased by 4.7% while vegetables by 13.7%.
The increase in prices for our country is more than double the average of European countries.
According to reports, Albania has left behind countries in the region such as Northern Macedonia and Serbia.
Considering that 41% of Albanian households’ expenditures are spent on food, compared to 13% of the average European households, these data are worrying for the country’s economy, already hit by the pandemic crisis.
