Cakaj: Serbia should go to The Hague Tribunal

The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Gent Cakaj held a meeting in the Netherlands with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, Lirim Greicevci to discuss the latest developments regarding the Special Court.

Through a Facebook post, he called for justice on the part of the judiciary and for an investigation related to Serbia’s crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Kosovo.

“Meanwhile, crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing and the genocide of Serbia in Kosovo, not only have not been sufficiently investigated, but they are not mentioned at all and the international community is mostly silent regarding this situation”, Cakaj said on Facebook.

Taking into consideration the trials against Kosovo over the years by various structures, such as: UNMIK, EULEX, The Hague Tribunal or various local justice bodies, Cakaj finds the targeting of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the state of Kosovo as one-sided in this process by the trial party.

Cakaj concluded by emphasizing Albania’s support and solidarity for Kosovo in this difficult period that the country is going through.
